Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 17, 2026
1. Introduction
Vectras LLC ("Vectras", "we", "our", or "us") operates Vectras VM, an Android application for running virtual machines locally. This policy explains how the app handles information, including advertising, purchases, online ROM Store features, and support.
Reading or using the app does not replace any consent required for advertising or other data processing. Features and privacy controls may vary by app version and region.
2. Scope
This policy covers Vectras VM distributed on Google Play as com.vectrasllc.vm and communications you send to Vectras support. Guest operating systems, software inside a VM, and external services you choose to use have their own privacy practices.
When you visit this website, its hosting provider and external asset providers receive network requests, including your IP address and browser information. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, styles and icons from external CDNs, and some third-party images. These requests are separate from the app's advertising consent choices.
3. Information and Purposes
3.1 Support and Crash Reports
Vectras does not require a user account or operate an account-based database of VM activity. The app does not automatically upload your name, email address, VM files, or a personal activity profile to Vectras. If you choose to email support, your email address, message, and any attachments reach our support mailbox so we can respond. This is a voluntary support communication, not automatic collection from your device.
The app can save a crash report locally and let you review, copy, or send it through your email app. Reports may contain device and app versions, stack traces, settings, and file paths. Review reports and remove sensitive information before sending them. Selecting an email action does not send a message until you send it from your email app.
3.2 Advertising Data
Advertising is shown to free users through Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. When the app verifies an active Premium subscription, it does not request or display in-app ads. The advertising data described here is handled by Google and eligible ad partners when advertising services are used; it is not a personal profile database operated by Vectras. Depending on your region, privacy choices, device settings, and ad mode, these providers may collect and share:
- IP address, which can be used to estimate an approximate location.
- Device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID where available.
- App and advertising interactions, such as launches, taps, and video views.
- Diagnostic and performance information about the app and advertising SDK.
This information is used to deliver and measure advertising, personalize ads where permitted, analyze performance, and detect fraud and abuse. Ad services may use identifiers and device storage as permitted by your choices and applicable requirements. Vectras does not request precise GPS location for advertising.
3.3 Privacy Choices
Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) presents a privacy message before eligible ad requests. The message lets you consent, decline, or manage purposes and partners. In app versions with UMP, open the home screen's overflow menu and select Privacy choices when that entry is available to review or change your choice. Availability depends on regional requirements and the installed version.
Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all ads. Google may serve non-personalized or limited ads according to your choices and eligibility. The app requests ads only when UMP permits requests; ad availability is not guaranteed. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID through Android's advertising privacy settings where supported.
A verified active Premium subscription removes in-app ads. Advertising consent and Premium are separate choices: declining consent does not subscribe you, and a subscription is not required to decline consent. Free features remain available subject to their normal limits.
3.4 Google Play Purchases
Google Play processes Premium payments. The app receives purchase and subscription information, including product identifiers, purchase tokens, purchase status, and signed purchase records, to verify access, acknowledge purchases, and restore entitlements. Vectras does not receive your full payment-card number or bank credentials. Google handles your payment details under its own policies.
3.5 ROM Store and Network Requests
The ROM Store maintains aggregate view and like counts. To update a count, the app sends the ROM identifier, a token returned by the statistics service, and, for a like, a count change of +1 or -1. These requests do not include your name, email address, account ID, Android advertising ID, or a persistent device identifier added by Vectras. The lists used to remember which ROMs you have viewed or liked are stored locally on your device.
These counters are not an account-based history of an individual user. Opening the store or downloading content also makes normal network requests to the relevant server or content host, which necessarily receives the connecting IP address. This statement does not imply that Vectras stores IP addresses or uses them to build user profiles. The app does not send activity from inside the guest operating system to the ROM Store statistics service.
3.6 Local VM Data and Diagnostics
VM images, guest files, and machine settings are stored on your device. Vectras does not upload VM disk images or guest file contents to its servers as part of normal VM execution. Guest networking, external VNC connections, Android backup settings, and files you explicitly export or share can transfer information outside the device.
Firebase libraries are included in the app, but automatic Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collection is disabled in the app configuration. This is separate from the advertising SDK's own diagnostics and measurement described above.
4. Android Permissions
Permissions support specific app functions and can depend on Android version:
- File or storage access lets you import, export, and use VM images and other selected files.
- Internet and network-state access supports guest networking, ROM Store content, downloads, advertising, privacy messages, and Google Play purchase services.
- Foreground service, wake-lock, and notification capabilities support VM execution and its ongoing controls. Notification visibility also depends on Android settings.
- Audio settings access supports playback configuration; the app does not request microphone recording for advertising.
You can manage available runtime permissions in Android settings. Restricting a permission may affect its associated feature.
5. Third-Party Services
Services used by the app include Google Play and Google Play Billing, Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads, Google's UMP, and content hosts such as GitHub. Advertising partners eligible under your privacy settings are identified in the consent message where applicable. External links and downloads are subject to the relevant provider's practices.

6. Disclosure and Sharing
When free-user advertising is used, Google and eligible ad partners collect and share advertising-related data as described in section 3.2. Vectras does not upload your VM images, guest files, or locally stored ROM Store preferences to advertising partners. Email providers process messages you voluntarily send to support; Google Play handles purchases, and content hosts receive the requests needed to deliver downloads. Information actually held by Vectras may be disclosed if required by law.
Advertising-related disclosures may fall within definitions of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under some regional laws. Where applicable, use the privacy message or Privacy choices entry to exercise available advertising opt-outs, or contact us for assistance.
7. Retention and Deletion
Local settings, crash reports, and ROM Store preferences remain until replaced, removed through available app controls, or cleared with app data. VM files saved outside private app storage, exported files, and backups may remain after uninstalling; remove them separately if you no longer need them.
Support emails, attached crash reports, and other support attachments held by Vectras are automatically deleted within 90 days. Vectras does not offer a separate on-request deletion process for these support records. Vectras does not maintain a personal VM-activity history behind the aggregate ROM Store counters. Aggregate counts can remain after app data is cleared because they are not stored as a per-user account record. Google and other providers handle retention of information they receive under their own policies; clearing app data does not erase their records.
For privacy questions about support information you voluntarily sent to Vectras or its automatic deletion, contact [email protected]. Do not include more personal information than necessary to explain your question. Requests concern information we actually hold; there is no Vectras user account or server copy of your VM files to delete. Manage Google advertising data and purchase records through Google's own controls. Do not send payment credentials or complete VM images. Deleting app data or uninstalling does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. Google states that Mobile Ads SDK data is encrypted in transit using TLS. No system or connection can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, VM files, guest systems, and any remote connections you configure.
9. Children
Vectras VM is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Vectras, contact us so we can investigate and address it. Where local law sets a higher age for valid consent, those requirements also apply.
10. Regional Rights and International Processing
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data protection authority. Contact [email protected] for requests concerning information Vectras holds. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
Where applicable, processing relies on consent for advertising purposes requiring consent, providing the service or purchase you request, legitimate interests in support and service security, or legal obligations. These grounds are subject to applicable law and do not override a required advertising consent choice.
Google and other providers may process information outside your country, subject to their applicable transfer safeguards and policies. Using the app alone is not treated as consent to advertising personalization or international transfers where separate consent is required.
11. Changes
We will revise the date above when this policy changes and provide additional notice or request consent where required. A policy update does not override your existing privacy choices or create consent by itself.
